Ian Layton was born in Mexborough in 1953, and expressed an interest in painting from an early age.

Growing success as an Artist allowed him to fulfil his desire to paint on his own terms. His paintings are a celebration of light and atmosphere, he particularly enjoys capturing the transient aspects of weather and the ôcoutre jourö effect of painting directly into the light.

He has displayed his work at many prestigious exhibitions, including: The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters, The Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal Society of Marine Artists, The Discerning Eye, and The New English Art Club at the Mall Galleries London.

Most of our Artists are able to do commission pieces, also if you see a painting that is sold they will be more than happy to do something similar for you. Please contact us for more information.
