Margaret was born in 1954 and brought up on a farm. This upbringing influenced the kind of paintings she likes to create. At school, art was the only subject she really liked and got praised for. In the seventies through her love of art, she took up painting and held a small exhibition.
Having loved the outdoor life, she later worked at a garden centre, although not directly involved in painting she would often be asked to help create customer garden design's and colour combinations. After over thirty years Margaret rediscovered her love for painting and started again in 2015. Margaret entered the Thoresby open exhibition in 2019, and was selected for the main gallery, where she sold two of her three paintings. She also has work exhibited in the John Bird Studio in Bawtry. Margaret is a self taught artist, with a passion for painting representative seascapes and countryside landscapes. Many of the paintings reflect the places she visits and loves, and tries to capture their special atmosphere.
